Our Farmhouse Ale is a well-fermented beer requiring a very special yeast. Thirst-quenching and rather hoppy, its citrussy aroma is unparalleled due to the addition of farm-grown lemongrass and lime leaves into the boil.
Inspired by βSaison-style beers, Farmhouse Ale originates from the Belgian province of Hainaut. In the quiet time of the winter season, farmers brewed beer from the left-over cereals as a perfect treat for the farm workers during harvest season. The name βSaisonβ finds its origin in that tradition.Β Tale 5 or Green Tale is brewed at the Farmhouse Brewery located on a former mango plantation, making it an authentic farmhouse ale.Β Our bottle'sΒ green label is an ode to all farmers, without whom there would be no food or no beer!
Speaking of Tale bottles, our heavy-duty bottles are the strongest in their class, uniquely shaped, made from recycled materials, and are an amber colour to give our craft beer the best protection from UV.

Tale 6 Hibiscus IPA 100% Natural | Local ingredients & flavours
Style: India Pale Ale (IPA)Β ABV:Β 6% Key Ingredient: Hibiscus Flavour: Hoppy blend of bitter & aromatic notes, with a touch of sweetness
With this IPA (India Pale Ale), we introduce another historical beer style in our Tale range. 250 years ago, English sailships took along beer on their long journeys to India. As regular beers expired very quickly, brewers learnt that higher alcohol levels and high levels of hops (containing anti-oxidants) helped preserve the beer longer.
Thatβs why every India Pale Ale beer is very hoppy and bitter. Just like ours! Tale 6 or Red Tale is top-fermented, bitter and has a red colour, created by the mix of malts we use while brewing and infusion with hibiscus. It tastes very hoppy, as it contains no less than 5 different types of hops: bitter hops and 3 types of aroma hops added during the boiling process as well as dry hopping after the boiling process.

Tale 7 Ginger Triple 100% Natural | Local ingredients & flavours
Style: Triple Ale ABV:Β 7% Key Ingredient:Β Fresh Ginger Flavour: Full-bodied with spicy undertones
The first mention of a Triple beer comes from Westmalle, a monastery in Belgium, over half a century ago. The Westmalle Abbey forms part of the Order of the Cistercians of the Strict Observance. Members of this community live by the 'Ora et Labora' (Latin for work and pray) principle. As such, the Monks have been brewing Westmalle Trappist Ales since 1836 in addition to producing cheese.
Triple is a strong ale with a bright golden appearance. The name βtripleβ is sometimes said to refer to having 3 portions of malt to generate an extra strong beer. Our interpretation of this Belgian classic is even more powerful, as we boosted it with a very tasteful natural ingredient from our backyard. Tale 7 or Golden Tale is a strong triple ale, top-fermented as are all our beers, and spiced up with fresh ginger to create an extra body. Much of its flavours are derived from the complex interplay between the wort and the unique yeast used in the fermentation process.

Tale 8 Cocoa Stout 100% Natural | Local ingredients & flavours
Style: Cocoa Stout ABV:Β Β 8% Key Ingredient: Cocoa Flavour: Chocolate & coffee notes, with a sweet bitterness
Stout beers are a variety of Porter, which were first brewed in London around 1730. PorterΒ beers were always dark and the name refers to its popularity with street and river porters. It quickly became popular with the working classes. Porter was the first beer style that conquered the world by the end of the 18th century. Somewhere along the line, porter drinkers added the adjective βstoutβ to Porter when ordering, referring to the strong Porter beer. Eventually, the name Stout became slang for strong dark beer.
The Tale version of this historical beer is extraordinary, as it is the strongest found in the region and the only one in Africa using Ghana cocoa in the brewing process. Adding in rice alongside roasted barley and malt, this top-fermented Cocoa Stout is much more drinkable than typical bitter stouts.
Tale 8 or Black Tale has a surprising aroma and invites you to discover its delicate chocolate and coffee notes followed by a touch of sweet bitterness.
